Tribambuka speaking at Designyatra 2020

Kyoorius Designyatra conference in Mumbai, India, released a snippet of my talk about finding one's voice. I was honoured to be among such speakers as Karim Rashid, Michael Wolff and Paula Scher. As everything in 2020 the conference was digital, and I really wish I could have met all the lovely audience and honourable speakers in person! maybe next time 🙂

Really excited to have entered the crypto art scene! I'm really excited about this digital transformation of the art world and this fresh wind of 3D art, animation and illustration claiming its space there. So thrilled to have my animation among the CA Illustration Competition Winners!

✷ From the CA press release: Communication Arts, a professional journal for those involved in creativity in visual communications has announced the winners of its 62nd annual illustration competition.

✷ For over 62 years, CA continues to showcase the current best—whether it’s from industry veterans or tomorrow’s stars—in design, advertising, photography, illustration, interactive and typography. Of the 4,074 entries to the 62nd Illustration Annual, only 128 were accepted, representing the work of 121 artists, making the Illustration Annual the most exclusive major illustration competition in the world.

Tribambuka’s ‘I Am Home’ project featured on ‘People Of Print’

Thanks to People of Print for this feature (and I'm really honoured to be accepted as a member!) So strange that I made 'Home' my main theme of the artistic research in 2019, and how it got new layers of meaning in 2020. Curious to see how 2021 will unfold, sharpening my pencils! You can see the full project here.

Heart Of The Nation animation is projected on Picadilly Circus screens, London

Migration Museum took over Picadilly Circus screens in London to show the preview of their exhibition 'Heart Of The Nation", that celebrates the role of migrants in the NHS. The video runs every Thursday in December 2020 at 8 PM, the same time when the whole nation clapped for the NHS in first lockdown. I have created the animation for this project - you can see the full project here. It also has got a few awards and shortlists and is going to be exhibited in the Museum of Illustration in New York in January 2021.

Lots of news this year!

So I've decided I need the NEWS section in my website. They will live here, and the first update is coming soon! In the meantime here's the opening illustration, symbolising what 2020 means to me. It gave us all a chance to rethink and re-evaluate a lot of things and to emerge transformed on the other side. This article by Charles Eisenstein published in March has set the tone for the rest of the year for me. It marks the emergence of the unconscious into consciousness, the crystallisation of chaos into order, the transcendence of compulsion into choice. What world shall we live in?
